Roller shades are an inexpensive and modern looking option for your hotel rooms. But sadly, they pose a hidden danger for your younger customers. The cord that controls the shade poses a strangulation risk, and is now the target of a new federal safety standard. What does this mean for you? It means that unless you are planning on purchasing motorized roller shades (which are significantly more expensive), you should consider traditional drapery instead of roller shades. In a short time, all of these non-motorized roller shades will require replacement by law. So please keep this in mind when considering roller shades going forward!
